LVMC of Hinesville, GA, is seeking self-motivated dedicated, enthusiastic professional to join their team as a Medical Director. The position is full time and will provide work weeks averaging 35 hours per week.
Hinesville, GA, is located approximately 45 minutes from Savannah. The city of Savannah inspires visitors with its emerald tree canopy, quaint cobblestone streets and majestic architecture. From architectural tours, music and food festivals, to art exhibits and Civil War re-enactments, Savannah brims with all kinds of events to excite and entertain. We are a 3 doctor, AAHA accredited, small animal practice that specializes in providing high quality, compassionate and convenient care for our patients. We recognize the importance of the relationships between humans and animals and we see our clients and patients as extended family. We offer a complete array of services including medicine, surgery, dentistry, x-rays, dental x-rays, and extended hours.
The purpose of this position is to work with the Office Manager and Lead Veterinary Technician to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations related to the medical care and treatment rendered to the patients of Liberty Veterinary Medical Center, with an expected ratio of Practitioner to Management time spent to be 85/15 %. The Medical Director will mentor and oversee training of the veterinary and technical team and oversee the standards and profitable operations of the practice. The Medical Director also educates clients and strives to deliver a high level of all aspects of veterinary care to companion animals. The Medical Director will establish, build and maintain a full-time patient load in accordance with hospital expectations as a veterinarian. Strong surgical skills, communication, and leadership skills will be expected. Mentoring of new or recent graduates will be expected in all aspects of medicine, especially in surgery.
Candidates are required to have at least 3 years of experience as a veterinarian as well as prior supervisory experience. Experience with AVImark software in a paperless environment is a plus.
