The University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) invites applications for a 13 month Limited Term Instructor, Small Animal Veterinary Clinical Sciences position in the Department of Veterinary Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences.
The position will have 90% of its time focused on teaching with 10% dedicated to service. Teaching will largely be comprised of clinical skills laboratory teaching of undergraduate students. A smaller contribution to didactic and field course teaching, and course coordination will be required.
Qualifications include a DVM (or equivalent) with demonstration of continuing education and experiences that demonstrate a high standard of small animal clinical practice. Past teaching experience is considered an asset. The applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
UCVM has approximately 70 faculty members, 130 staff, 125 DVM students, 110 graduate students, 25 post-doctoral fellows, and 15 advanced clinical trainees. UCVM’s DVM program provides a comprehensive general veterinary education to approximately 30-32 students per year. The program is an integrated core-elective program, with enhanced educational opportunities in defined areas that combine discipline-based courses with extensive on-campus and off-campus experiential learning. UCVM is a research-intensive faculty with expanding research, graduate education, and advanced clinical trainee programs.
