Resident Reproductive Veterinarian position a Thoroughbred farm in California Central Coast.
Resident Veterinarian position available at a leading Thoroughbred breeding farm in the central coast region of California. The farm stands eight stallions and is the permanent home of approximately 350 horses. Responsibilities include all fertility and reproductive work as well as general veterinary care of the farm’s seasonal and permanent resident horses.
The position requires a minimum of three years’ experience in reproductive/theriogenology, the ability to work long hours during breeding and foaling season, and to communicate effectively with staff and clients.
The farm is equipped with an in-house laboratory and pharmacy, ultrasound, and digital radiography equipment. Board-certified veterinarians are routinely available in ancillary and supporting roles; if desired, an intern position may be created. We provide all necessary administrative and clerical support, equipment and supplies, including a veterinary work vehicle. The successful candidate will have an understanding of, and enjoy working in, the thoroughbred racing and breeding industry.
Compensation includes a three-bedroom house, health insurance, and a CE allowance, in addition to other benefits. We will pay all fees and licensing including medical malpractice. Salary will be based on experience.
