This program provides a unique opportunity for an individual that has completed a rotating internship or equivalent experience and would like to pursue more advanced training in equine emergency and critical care. The schedule consists of 5 days per week (shared on-call) with opportunities to rotate through the surgery and internal medicine services. The program is mentored by three equine ACVECC diplomates as well as specialists in surgery and internal medicine. There are opportunities for primary case responsibility as well as collaboration and mentoring by the other specialists at the hospital. Interested applicants would have the option to transition to an equine ACVECC residency program after 6 months.

About Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center
Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center is a referral hospital located in Penryn, CA at the base of the Sierra Foothills. The hospital provides referral services for a group of 4 practices with a total of 25-30 veterinarians. The hospital is located on a 25 acre facility that houses between 60-100 horses. Facilities include 2 hospital barns, 2 ICUs, 2 isolation facilities, and an array of covered paddocks and pastures. The hospital has a full surgical suite, MRI, digital radiography, digital ultrasound, and endoscopy. The group of doctors is highly collaborative with a team approach to patient care and client services.
