Equine Externship
Brandon Equine Medical Center
Externship Information Maximum Number of Externs: 2 Number of Externships available: 2 Estimated Externship Workload: 50-70 hours per week dependent on the time of year. Goals of the Externship: The goal of our externship is to provide as much "hands on" experience as possible for the veterinary student. We encourage applicants to spend at least two weeks with us if possible, but four weeks is preferable. The longer that the veterinary student is with us, the more they will be allowed to do. Externs will gain a significant amount of experience by spending time in the hospital seeing outpatients, as well as going out on the road with our ambulatory veterinarians on routine and emergency cases. They also have the opportunity to participate in after hours emergencies, and participate in weekly journal clubs and hospital rounds, which will further augment the learning opportunities available to them. Application Process: Please submit a CV and letter of intent to Dr. Leann Kuebelbeck (lkuebelbeck@brandonequine.com) Prerequisites: Minimum of first year of veterinary school completed. Availability: year round Living Quarters: Available on premises, on a first come, first serve basis. Internship Availability: yes
