Veterinarian
Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital
Are you a common sense, bottom half of the class, didn't pass national boards on your first try, young or not so young, love animals but that is NOT the reason you went into veterinary medicine, like to work, are not into the bar scene because we don't have any cool ones or need lots of outside entertainment to be content with life, want to practice veterinary medicine for the rest of your life and you are looking for a job? If this is you or even a lot of you but not all of you, let's exchange some emails and maybe even talk on the phone or revert to snap chatting each other if it goes that far! Ok, maybe not snapping because I am not very good at it but I am willing to at least try it. We are looking for any veterinarian who wants to practice veterinary medicine like it was in All Creatures Great and Small with James Harriot. Maybe not exactly like that as we have all the latest equipment and technology but our first priority is building a relationship with our clients and being what they need us to be and by doing that we get to help a lot of animals and that my friends is why I went into veterinary medicine, to help animals to the best of my ability and not turn them away because they don't have enough money to get the "gold standard" of treatment and diagnostics. We are located in rural southeastern Arizona in the heart of cotton growing and copper mining and beef cattle, well, not exactly that order any longer, the mining is first, than the cotton and finally the cattle. We are kind of in the middle of nowhere with the closest large city being 2 hours away. If you are an outdoor enthusiast there is easy access to all sorts of outdoor activities within a short drive of our wonderful little community. We are the heart of our micropolitan area and we service all the surrounding counties. This is a mixed animal position. Let's face it, dogs and cats pay the bills and the horses and cattle are the icing on the big cake of small animal! We are 80% small animal and 20% large animal with room to grow that especially in equine repro if someone is interested. If you aren't interested in equine repro that is ok to! Work week is four days that begin at 8 and generally end at 5 and we are not open on weekends. We are rural and 2 hours away from the nearest emergency clinic so there is on call duties that are split but only until 8pm and starting again at 5am. Salary is dependent upon experience and while we can not compete with corporate on wages we definitely beat them with care for you and your needs! Our starting new grad salary is $80,000. We also do all the other stuff like insurance and 401K and dues and so on and so forth.
