Full-time faculty positions-College of Veterinary Medicine, Long Island University. The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Long Island University (LIU) in Brookville, NY, invites applications from self-directed, innovative and motivated individuals to join LIU-CVM faculty in the fields of veterinary small animal surgery, large animal surgery and anesthesiology. Positions will be filled at full-time, tenure or clinical track assistant, associate or full professor levels. Successful candidates will be engaged in the College’s educational, research and service activities. Priority review will be given to candidates whose strength is teaching. Successful candidates are expected to promote LIU-CVM’s overall mission of enhancing veterinary medical education through a commitment to teaching, academic excellence, and service to a variety of stakeholders.
Active engagement in curriculum development, identification or creation of innovative learning resources, committee service participation (such as admissions, curriculum, research, etc.) is expected of both clinical and tenure track faculty. All tenure track faculty contribute to the overall research and scholarly goals of the CVM and are expected to develop independent or collaborative research.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree, and advanced training/expertise in the specialty of interest. Specialty board certification/eligibility is preferred. Research experience with an advanced degree is desired. Ideal candidates should have a working knowledge of curricular design and implementation. Candidates will have a record of scholarly achievement as an independent and or collaborative researcher consistent with appointed rank. S/he/they will have the proven ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusiveness and will interact well with University administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni.

LIU-CVM received a Provisional Accreditation by the AVMA- Council on Education on March, 2020 and admitted the inaugural class in the Fall of 2020. Currently, with over seventy-five off-campus affiliate sites, LIU CVM utilizes a distributed model of clinical education. The LIU-CVM Veterinary Learning Center was completed in the spring semester of 2023.
