The Veterinary Health Center, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a full time Hospital Administrator.
The successful candidate will provide operational oversight and leadership for the hospital personnel and is responsible for maintaining an environment that produces high quality patient care, client service, teaching, and research. In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Clinical Programs, the successful candidate will ensure a high-performing and engaged culture within the hospital and college community through support and development of the hospital’s veterinary technical and administrative employees toward the goal of quality patient care and excellent client service. These efforts will be complemented by assisting with faculty engagement in hospital operations. The Hospital Administrator must work collaboratively within a team environment and effectively develop and lead teams. The successful candidate will be responsive to faculty, staff, management, and client concerns and ensure effective and consistent communication and feedback channels among these various customer groups.
The successful candidate will assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining practices and policies to ensure hospital operations remain efficient, financially viable, and positive for patients, clients and employees. Overall hospital safety and compliance with hospital policy will also be key components of this position.
Required qualifications include MBA or MHA, or relevant Masters degrees with 5+ years experience managing and/or providing direction in a hospital/health entity, training hospital entity and/or a professional medical training organization, and excellent knowledge of business processing, management, hospital operations.
Preferred qualifications include 7-10 years of experience in administrative management in a veterinary or human hospital environment.
