Assistant/Associate Professor of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery
Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery to join our faculty at the DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center in Harrogate, Tennessee.
This faculty position offers an outstanding opportunity to educate the next generation of veterinarians while contributing to the continued growth of an innovative and student-centered veterinary program. The successful candidate will provide instruction in large animal medicine and surgery, mentor veterinary students, participate in clinical service, and engage in scholarship and service activities consistent with the mission of Lincoln Memorial University.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Teach veterinary students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
- Provide clinical instruction and supervision in large animal medicine and surgery.
- Assist in coordinating the large animal surgery curriculum and clinical programs.
- Mentor and advise veterinary students.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
- Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to faculty rank.
- Serve on college and university committees.
- Support the mission and strategic goals of Lincoln Memorial University and the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent veterinary medical degree).
- Eligibility for veterinary licensure as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced training in large animal surgery.
- Diplomate status or eligibility for board certification in a relevant specialty (ACVS or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Previous teaching, clinical instruction, or mentoring experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in veterinary education, clinical service, and collaborative teamwork.
