You love animals and wanted to help them, so you became a veterinarian. After graduation, you then experienced or heard about something negative at a corporate-owned veterinary facility. You saw corporate greed, overworked staff, and animal care NOT being the priority.  Dr. Griffin, the owner of the Saltville Animal Clinic, experienced these things too. As a result, she decided to open her own clinic in 2020. We are thriving and are ready to expand the practice. 

We are looking for a small animal veterinarian to join our team. We offer stable, predictable weekday hours, a staff that is more like family than employees, and the ability to see a wide variety of cases. We focus heavily on rescue work, shelter work, and treating previously fatal FIP in cats. We perform many surgeries, including sterilization, mass removals, soft tissue surgeries, stenotic nares surgery, various ophthalmic surgeries, etc. We perform dental procedures, and we have digital radiography. We have a full set of in-house IDEXX blood machines. We are constantly looking for ways to expand and further serve our community, including possibly building a separate building for surgical procedures, etc. 

We are located in a small town in the midst of the mountains in an area known for its scenic beauty, ecological diversity and outdoor recreation opportunities. 

This position will start as part-time with the possibility to expand to full-time with benefits if the right person is found. New grads are welcome to apply. This presents a great opportunity to work with an experienced mentor. Desire to do surgery is not a requirement. Must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine license in the state of Virginia. Extreme preference for applicants who understand our desire to keep costs as low as possible for our clientele.
